This policy explains what personal data Translatura collects when you use translatura.com, why, how long we keep it and what your rights are. We wrote it to match how the service actually works. If something here is unclear, write to us.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Artem Zrazhevskyi, a sole trader trading under the registered business name Translatura.
Artem Zrazhevskyi, trading as Translatura8 Drumhierney Manor, Leitrim Village, Co. Leitrim, Ireland

2. What we collect and why
When you try the free preview
- The photos of your document and everything visible in them. Documents for immigration and tax purposes usually contain names, dates and places of birth, document numbers, signatures and photographs, and sometimes information about other people, including children.
- The draft translation produced from those photos, and the type of document you selected.
- An anonymous account identifier created in your browser so that only you can open your order. It contains no name or email address.
- A one-way fingerprint of your IP address, used only to limit how many free previews can be requested from one connection per day. It is deleted automatically within a few days.
When you order the certified package
- Your contact details: the email address, phone number or Google account you sign in with, so that we can send you the package and contact you about your order.
- The spelling of names as in your passport, if you give it to us, so that the translation matches your other documents.
- Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of the payment and its amount; we never see or store your card number.
- The certified package: the final translation, the certificate and a copy of your photos.
What we do not collect
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not build profiles. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
3. Our legal basis
- Your consent — for processing your document to prepare the free preview. We ask for it before the first upload. You can withdraw it at any time by not continuing or by asking us to delete the order; this does not affect processing that already took place.
- Performance of a contract — for preparing, checking, certifying and delivering the package you ordered, and for handling corrections and refunds.
- Legal obligation — for keeping records of payments as tax law requires.
- Legitimate interests — for protecting the service against abuse, and for keeping a minimal record of issued certificates so that an authority can verify them.
Documents sometimes reveal sensitive information, for example about health, religion or ethnic origin. We process such information only because it appears in a document you asked us to translate, on the basis of your explicit consent, and only for that translation.
4. Documents about other people
If a document concerns someone else — a child, a spouse, a parent — please upload it only if you are entitled to do so, for example as a parent or guardian or with that person's permission. The service is not intended to be used by children.
5. How the translation is produced
The draft translation is produced automatically by an AI model, which reads your photos and writes the English text. Nothing is decided about you automatically: the draft is not a certified translation, and every certified package is checked against your document and signed by a human translator.
6. Who else handles your data
We use a small number of service providers, who act on our instructions:
- Google Cloud (Firebase) — stores orders, photos and packages and provides sign-in. Storage and processing are set up in the European Union.
- Google Cloud Vertex AI, running Anthropic's Claude model — produces the draft translation, in a European Union region.
- Vercel — hosts this website.
- Cloudflare — provides the domain name service for translatura.com.
- Stripe — processes payments.
Some of these providers belong to groups based outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where personal data may be accessed from outside the EEA, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's adequacy decisions or by standard contractual clauses.
We do not share your documents with anyone else, unless the law requires us to. The authority you submit your translation to receives it from you, not from us.
7. How long we keep your data
- If you do not order, your photos and the draft translation are deleted automatically 7 days after you started the order.
- If you order, your photos, the translation and the package are kept for 90 days after the order is completed, refunded or declined, so that we can correct or re-send it, and are then deleted automatically.
- The certificate record used for verification is kept for as long as the certificate may be relied on. It contains the certificate number, the date, the type and title of the document, the language, the number of pages, a fingerprint of the file and the holder's initials — not the name, not the document number and not the document itself.
- Payment records are kept for six years, as Irish tax law requires.
You can ask us to delete your order earlier at any time.
8. How we protect your data
Your files are stored in a closed storage area with no public links. Only you can open your own order, and only the translator can open the documents sent for certification. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever affected your data, we would tell you and the Data Protection Commission as the law requires.
9. Certificate verification
Every certificate carries a number and a QR code leading to a verification page on this website. Anyone who has the number can see the certificate record described in section 7. The page cannot be used to see your document or your name.
10. Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The site stores a few items in your browser that it needs in order to work: your sign-in session, the identifier of your unfinished order so you can return to it, and your language choice. Because these are strictly necessary for the service you asked for, we do not show a cookie banner. Clearing your browser data removes them.
11. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to:
- ask what data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to our use of your data;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
To use any of these rights, write to info@translatura.com. We reply within one month. If we need to confirm that a request really comes from you, we will ask for information that lets us match it to your order.
You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963, Ireland — www.dataprotection.ie. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects an order you have already placed in a significant way, we will tell you directly.
